I was meant to have October but I fell outside hospital when I had my appointment for collateral surgery and I would off got a date but I felt and broke my femur and had to have emergency operation so it set me back a bit on worried though I've had chemo 3 rounds and being off chemo September this year so I'm worried now because of what have CT scan again on the 15th and I've got to have cardiovascular appointment then after that I find out about surgery but it is worrying as I hope to god it hasn't grown in my right side it is also they're looking at taking my pit line out as it's been itchy and I don't want it to get infected but I know the surgeon said to me about keeping it in until after surgery and now I'm worried because I read about different things are not scared and has no one to talk to about it sorry for the long text been on my own with this
Hi Remembering Oh dear you have had a rough time of it haven’t you but I’m glad you’ve reached out and joined the board.
It’s normal to have another scan and ecg before surgery to check that you’ve no underlying issues that they’re not aware of and also an up to date status on the tumour. Hopefully you’ll get a surgery date through soon but please ask if there’s anything you’re particularly worried about.
I didn’t have a picc line until after my surgery but I think it wold have been in the way if I’m honest and I’m not sure if it would be suitable for the post surgery drips as I know there can be different sizes?
Have you thought about ringing the support line for a chat? They’ll be happy to listen and will be able to check if there’s any local support for you?
Please keep posting and let us know how you’re doing?
Take care
Karen x
