Hi All
I’m having my first colonoscopy tomorrow and I’ve been following the diet as told.
But I’m really struggling to drink the Moviprep. I’ve tried gulping it down but that makes me heave and I’m scared I’m going to be sick. So I’m currently sipping it through a straw but it’s taking forever! I know I’ve got to get it down and I need to just suck it up and get on with it. But does anyone have any suggestions for making it any easy to get it down.
I do feel an idiot for being such a wimp and I am trying to tell myself to just get on with it. But it’s not working!
Any suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks
Hi Bev99 It’s not the best is it? It’s best drunk cold so get it in the fridge then I sort of portioned it out and tried to have a glass every 15 minutes? I made myself have 3 big slurps through a straw then a big swig of tonic water with lemon to take the taste away. You could also try adding cordial (but not blackcurrant) but try it in a small amount first in case it makes it worse!
You’re not a wimp - it’s like drinking salt water mixed with sherbet lemons - but they will ask you if you’ve completed the prep at your appointment so try and get it down if you can?
Take care

Thanks Karen. I’ll keep going.
I guess the important thing is I drink it. I pre use it doesn’t matter if it takes longer than they suggest as long as I get it in. I keep sipping. If I try to gulp it down I’m going to be sick so slow & steady it will have to be.
Im hoping the procedure won’t be are miserable as this!
I agree cold is best. I’d even chuck some ice in there
I was told to sip it over an hour. The flavour has a lot to be desired. I had a glass of lemonade so that I could sip on that too. Once it’s down it’s a rather satisfying feeling when it appears at the other end. This is the worse bit. Honestly the procedure is painless unless you get a bit of wind and then they just tell you to fart……that part had my daughter in stitches when I told her. Xxx
This is the worst part, the rest will be easier I promise.
