Hi just joined
been a whirlwind couple of months since diagnosis, scans surgery and now recovering.
NHS have been amazing and fortunate it was stage 1 and no further treatment needed ie chemo just surveillance.
Is it normal to have not not taken time to deal with the initial prognosis and feel like a fraud as been fortunate to not have to have chemotherapy.
Hi Luckyno13,
yes it’s completely normal. I didn’t need chemo but was offered as mine was close to a blood vessel. Belt and braces! I sat in the hospital looking around and thinking ‘look at all these poor people who have had cancer’.
it only sunk in for me when I collected my chemo at which point I sobbed outside the pharmacy.
The oncologist did warn me sometimes it takes a while to feel real.
Hope you recovery goes quickly!
