Hi everyone, similar to some of the other comments on here I’ve recently been diagnosed with rectal cancer following a colonoscopy (3 actually!) following a general over 40s MOT.
Started 5 weeks of chemo and radiotherapy yesterday, so far so good but I’m worried the side effects will kick in before too long.
staying positive though- no sign of spread and hoping it all goes well. Happy to chat to anyone going through similar stuff.
Also, chemo tablets have given me a constant metallic taste- I know it’s only day 2 but it’s bugging me- any tips on how to deal with this?
I’ve seen Tangtastics recommended too!
Not sure if you are already, but my husband has been downing a pint of water when he takes them and then immediately rinses with non alcoholic mouthwash. Just about to go into his 6th cycle of 9 days on 4 days off (3 tablets twice a day) and so far no real issues with his mouth from the tablets. He’s also started taking them half way through his breakfast/dinner to completely remove any left over taste.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
