Hi everyone, I posted on Tuesday to say hubby was in theatre having his right hemicolectomy.
Obviously he was poorly when i got to see him later that evening, he is slowly recovering, having good and bad spells throughout the day.
The surgeon had to take more than originally planned but it is what is is. There was talk of him being discharged today but his blood pressure is very low this morning so keeping him in as a precaution.
The staff have been brilliant and it makes you realise how hard our nurses and ward staff actually work.
Hope your husband continues to recover as the days go on, it’s good news that he is nearly ready for discharge. I found that I felt worse when I was in pain, staying on top of the pain relief was a massive part of the recovery for me. I was in so much pain that I even cried to the consultant at one point!
I also had an amazing staff team, they work so hard even when there are no beds left. The care patients receive is amazing.
wishing your husband a speedy recovery.
