Hi there

lI had a catheter fitted for 12 hours after surgery last Monday. On Wednesday I started having major problems trying to pee. I’ve had a problem in this department for the last year (I’m 65 in April) but nothing that has worried me , but now I think the surgery may have aggravated the problem.

Cane home on Thursday but had to call GP out on Friday who thinks I have a UTI. Prescribed antibiotics but they haven’t eased the problem detours drinking lots of water, cranberry juice

getting him out again tomorrow

any advice much appreciated

TIA

  • Hi

I would be inclined to call the out of hours service . It may be a post op complication and it is always best to err on the side of caution just after surgery .

  • Hiya

we did that on Thursday night and they advised me to drink lots of fluids . My GP then said I was drinking too much water. The thing is I’ve two broken legs and I will not let my wife drive me to hospital in this storm as we live in rural west wales . I’ll get the GP back out tomorrow

    Thank you for your help

  • Oh my goodness . You have so much going on . It’s hard when you get conflicting advice and I hope your Gp can help you tomorrow.
The storm is getting up here too . Scottish gales are making themselves known .
