I have been clear since May And I am on watch and wait. I have had my first quarterly check and my markers came bag at 6.2 . So I had another scan and more bloodsand a sigmoid colonoscopy  they did not find anything on the scan but my bloods came back 9.5 and they don't know why so now have to have a MRI

DOES anyone now or had this happen to them what it means can't stop worrying that it's come back.

  • Hi

CEA  is tricky at the best of times . My mum had this two years in a row where they spiked . She had scans which showed nothing and then out of the blue dropped down three months later .

Some people have a PET scan just to rule out anything that may not be showing on a CT scan .
has a good link explaining CEA and the things that can influence it .

However it sounds as though nothing obvious is showing . How was your CEA at diagnosis?

  • I don't know what it was at diagnosis but when I got the all clear it was 1.2. I am  not really worried . But get niggle thoughts every so often.

  • Hi  Here is the link that Court mentions. As you can see it points towards big jumps being the ones of concern but it’s good that your team is being thorough and checking everything out
