Hi all I'd like to share my journey so far.

I've already posted about colonoscopy and told that it probably is a cancerous tumor, now had scans and yesterday had a call for a meeting to discuss results. Mixed feelings about everything at the moment,as in not sure if the pain in my arm means something or the niggle in my right side is an indication but otherwise feeling fine.

I do believe that I definitely need to keep a positive mind set even though its so easy to drift away sometimes.

I find this forum a great support and will update.

Thanks all

  • Hi  Yes it’s good to keep a positive mindset if you can. Every little niggle can send the mind into overdrive but remember that thoughts are not facts so wait for the meeting and then you’ll know exactly what you’re dealing with and what your treatment plan is going to be

Please keep posting and we’ll help you through this

    Take care

  • Hi , I am sure you are all over the place at the moment,  I think it is the waiting and not really knowing which is awful, and we all imagine the worse.  Hopefully, after tomorrow you will feel more settled.  I know it is a rotten time for you (a lot of us on here know what its like), but like most of us, we got through it.  I am glad that you are feeling fine, that is a positive, and like you say try and keep a positive mind set.  I was an idiot, as I was getting symptoms and kept leaving it as I thought it would resolve itself, but of course it never and I eventually had to get seen (bearing in mind I worked as a medical secretary in a Doctors for 25 years, two Dr's husband & wife), and it was the husband Dr, that I told and he even said to me it sound like bowel cancer when I told him the symptoms, and it was.  That was last year, and I have had treatment and am feeling fine now...so stay positive there are so much they can do these days...keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

  • Stay away from the Internet and medical symptom sorters. If a colonoscopy has discovered something at least it has been seen, photographed and measured and a treatment plan will be drawn up - if necessary - to resolve the issue (whatever and wherever it is). Stay busy and divert your attention away from health issues to routine matters you can control. Difficult but possible, as others will confirm.
