Hello all , I'm a year post my last chemo cycle but my CEA was high (13) throughout chemo and dipped to approximately 10 but has now risen above 12. Has anybody else in the group had an abnormal CEA that has proven to be their personal 'normal'.
Hi 1P1042 A lot of oncologists don’t like using CEA as an indicator as it can vary due to things like an infection but a rise of 2 above your normal level would not be a cause for immediate panic - it tends to be big increases that warrant further investigation. It’s explained quite well in the link attached but you could always ring your colorectal support nurse for reassurance?
Take care
