Today I heard the dreaded you have colon cancer that has spread to your lungs. I'm in shock and to be honest it explains the last year and a half. I don't know where to start. I know mental health is a big issue. I am also bipolar with PTSD and social anxiety disorder so I already tend to isolate myself.

  • I’m so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. A spread is a really difficult thing to deal with emotionally. I’ve had two, and am doing okay. There are a lot of treatments available for different cancers and spreads. Give yourself time to let this sink in, and be kind to yourself. I hope with your other issues, you will find this community useful. My mum is bipolar and I have a colleague who suffers with social anxiety. That said, I don’t have all the answers, but just wanted to say hello, and offer some support. I hope you’ll post again. Sending you a big virtual hug.

  • A lot to process  .

My mum has been in and out of treatment for 14 years and has been dealing with a spread to her lungs since 2016 . She is currently still having treatment despite being in her 80s so I hope this gives you a little hope and encouragement.
