Hi I'm 8 weeks today post surgery. I was able to have 3 tumours removed by having my colon removed. As there's been no spread I'm lucky not needing chemotherapy. Unfortunately I've tested positive for Lynch's Syndrome which is a genetic origin for the tumours. Stupidly I thought I'd be back to normal by now. I'm retired so my time is my own and I spend a lot of it asleep. I find it difficult to do much physical work and quickly sweat up so have to stop and rest. At night although I'm tired I wake nightly with drenching night sweats. By the time you've washed and changed you're wide awake. I know I'm not alone in going through this but wouldn't it be lovely to be able to just have a day off.
Hi Jane Disco. As Ann says it is still quite early days so you could start with short walks and then build up day by day. Might be worth contacting your doctor for bloods doing to eliminate any infection or vitamin deficiency? Are you on any medication that it might be a side effect of?
Hope things settle down a bit for you soon
Take care

Hi I had a right hemi colectomy. Am accepting that you just have to go along with your body. I really am an impatient patient! Thanks for replying
Thanks for replying and the suggestions, I'm taking a combined vitamin and mineral supplement as the low residue diet is poor. I suppose I'm being too eager. Each day I hope to do a bit more
Hi Jane disco
I know exactly what you mean. My consultant told me six months to get back to where I was before . I disagreed with him and thought I knew better
So I pushed it and became frustrated when I had no energy eventually realising that if I had two power naps a day I could manage more. Like walking around the shops a little and my pelvic floor. Those I did morning and night
Remember to Power Nap and eat little and often
Take care
Ann
My consultant told me to aim for 8-9 small meals daily, 2 biscuits being a meal. If I did this there's no time left for anything else as am asleep! So I do eat small amounts but not at any given intervals. Power naps definitely the way to go. Best wishes Jane
Ha ha 8-9 meals. That’s just grazing
I think your body will tell you when you need food and rest.
I learned to listen to my body and not push it.
it’s slowly slowly wins the race
Like the tortoise. Definitely no hate
Ann
