Hello

i have just joined so Hello to all

i had my operation a year ago. I was lucky that they took all the cancer away , it had not spread and

i did not need any treatment.

However I have struggled for the last six months or so with left sided pain and no one seems to be able to

diagnosis it or help me. I have just had my 1 year colonoscopy and it was normal and a CT just waiting for that result.

i have been told it could be adhesions and nerve pain. Pain killers do not receive it.

Has anyone had anything similar and if so what help did they seek

  • Hi

So pleased to hear your cancer was removed .

My mum had a lot of pain for a few years which was attributed to adhesions . I am not sure if you have googled them but when you see them you can fully understand how they could pull and cause pain .

Glad you are getting thoroughly checked with a Ct scan . Have they talked about how you should proceed if it is adhesions .

If it’s any encouragement my mum’s did settle and the pain subsided.

    Take care ,

  • Hello Cartner, sorry to hear about your pain .I am 8 months post colorectal surgery and have experienced pain on my left side for  a shortish time after passing a motion but not everytime. It could be adhesions and my friend had bad pains for some time but they stopped eventually.Sorry I can't contribute more to help you at the moment.

  • Thank you for your support, my CT scan is also clear and I hope to hear from the consultant very soon with all the results plus an appointment to discuss the pain and a definite diagnosis. If it is adhesions I can perhaps seek some help from alternative therapies .
