Hi I was referred by my GP in the beginning of May after having rectal bleeding pain and weight loss, had colonoscopy 2 weeks ago which was horrific the pain was unable even with sedation, so it had to be abandoned and I was as referred for a C T colonoscopy with contrast last week.
I got phone call yesterday to say they had found a 8mm polyp and I have to have another colonoscopy to remove it for testing, I’m so scared to have it done again due to my last experience and obviously apprehensive of the results
Hi, I am recovering from stage three colon cancer. I had two large polyps removed from my upper bowel 7 weeks ago.
You can request a general anaesthetic for the procedure. I suffer from complex PTSD and always have general for my colonoscopy. My results were clear. I find that taking one step and one procedure at a time.
I had major surgery for a bowel resection in November last year and my results show that I am now clear. I had combination chemotherapy for six months prior to surgery. Try and get support from friends and family through this difficult time.

I will certainly ask about the sedation, I spoke to consultant he said it will be less invasive as before due to it locations, but I’m a very anxious person with the same issues PTSD which doesn’t help if you just can’t relax,
it’s been a hell of month with everything and those awful bowel preps, the second one was far worse for the CT scan and to cap it all the CT broke down half way through the scan with me in the machine, 
they had to send for someone they got me out and then sat me in the cubicle for 30mins, i had to have the contrast again and be pumped up with C02 again nightmare
