I finished my treatment of radiotherapy and chemo tablets . I've been told tumour has shrunk . I have to have another MRI and thought she said an endoscopy but nit sure as thus is down the throat will just have to wait. I'm glad it shrunk but still worried about the next steps.
Is anyone else at this stage or had this done.
Hi Unfair2. Good news that the tumour has shrunk. Seems strange to have an endoscopy - more likely a colonoscopy or maybe she shortened it to ‘oscopy? Surgery may be the next step or chemo depending on what the consultant feels is the best treatment for you. Either way just take it one step at a time and each day you’re a step closer to getting rid of the tumour
Take care

I had a colonoscopy after positive FIT , then CT ,then MRI just when I was hoping for the op they wanted an Endoscopy to measure exactly where my tumour was as mine was large. It was an imaging Endoscopy and ultra sound. The doctor showed me exactly how far it was through my abdomen the measurements were amazing I could see exactly what it looked like Made me even more determined to get it in the bin
it was very impressive equipment to check which was the best op for the job. It’s similar to Colonoscopy.
I didn’t have sedation as I was told it would be okay however as my tumour was so big I found it uncomfortable but manageable.
I’ll be thinking of you

Ha ha. Me too.
They are only taking images and measurements to see the best op to get that thing in the bin. It’s definitely worth it. It’s not as uncomfortable as the colonoscopy as they don’t go up as far. Well they didn’t with me.
I had keyhole then open surgery and they did a fantastic job.
best wishes

I had radiotherapy for rectal cancer. Had a MRI scan which showed it had shrunk. However I ended up having surgery to remove the tissue that was left and biopsies were taken. Proved to be all ok.
after surgery had colonoscopy all ok. However going to be checked ever six months
