Roller-coaster living

Hi everyone. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer on 3rd January. Since then life has been like a runaway roller coaster ride, with highs and lows, all of them scary and constantly being out of control. Our daughter got married, we were told the cancer was incurable. Then chemo started, my husband was hospitalised with infection. Then his bowel became obstructed and he had to have emergency surgery. He is still in hospital and I am waiting to get him back home again. Amazingly, we are at peace because the standard of care, the compassion and excellence of those looking after him has been such a blessing. We don't know what is next but we do know that we will face it together and every day I get with him is a good day!

  • Hi Sally 24.

Sorry to hear about where you and husband find yourselves but your combo of positivity and counting blessing is such a powerful tonic for you both. Revolving hearts.

I wish him a steady recovery.

    Big virtual hug.

  • What a beautiful and uplifting post . I hope he gets home soon and you can face each day together .

  • How lovely to hear ‘we are at peace’

sounds as if you both are a great strong team together within your relationship. This will carry you both through that ride of a rollercoaster. Sincerely hope your husband is home soon to recover, in the meantime hope you are taking care of yourself also .
