Just wanted to say hi.
My diagnosis was an out of the blue one this past week, only really symptom was abdominal pain but that had been attributed to potential endometriosis and then adhesions, this wasn't on anybody's radar (understandable I suppose, I'm only 38 and the others explained the pain). They weren't looking for it when they found it in a CT scan after hysterectomy.
It's already metastatic but we're still early days, I still don't know quite what chemo will look like or which type we're going for but I know that talking to others going through this is going to help give me the strength to fight this!
Hello Carebear ,
I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Quite a lot to get your head around when the news comes out of the blue like that.
I am sure you will find lots of help & support in this group. There is generally someone that comes along who shares a similar experience that can give you hope & optimism.
This group’s members & the Macmillan factual resources really helped me when I was diagnosed. Stopped my head from doing its own thing…
Hugs,
Bee
Hi, sorry to hear this. I too have had a “probable’ diagnosis this week. I’m numb. Got a Ct scan booked for next week but it’s the waiting. Was told just an hour after a colonoscopy last Sunday. Had no symptoms other than breathless walking up hill where I usually managed ok so went to the go. I too hope talking with others will help as I feel so helpless. I’m 54.
Dear Carebear and Atticus
Firstly, massive respect to both usernames - you both take me back to lovely memories with them.
Welcome to the forum and sorry for what your both going through. The weeks ahead may have lots of terminology thrown at you and quantity of info can be overwhelming.
My best tip, to read at your own pace and only when you're ready, is this document from Bowel Cancer UK abput pathways:

Attics,
I'm so sorry for you too. You're so right this limbo space is just the worst.
The CT thankfully is at least non-intrusive and not painful in anyway, if they use contrast it really does feel like you're weeing yourself but trust me you're not!
I feel that having a safe space to share and talk openly is so important in processing everything and finding the strength to move forward.
Sending love.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
