  • Hi,

I was diagnosed back in August last year after taking part in the Bowel cancer screening programme, I had no symptoms so luckily for me my tumour was spotted early, although it was all rather a shock.
I had the tumour removed successfully in late August but did end up having to have a temporary stoma (which we named Bilbo)

    • I have had 4 sessions of chemo, the last one being just before Christmas Frowning2️ which I found all 4 quite tough really but I had a really good support network around me which truly has helped.
I believe I’ve been very positive through this journey, don’t get me wrong there has been times in the beginning where I thought I couldn’t cope, dealing with the stoma and the difficulties dealing with that (few accidents in the beginning) and then the chemo as well.
I have finished chemo snd medication now and can hon say I’m feeling good, I still get tired but I can cope with that.
      Keep those positive pants on!!
  • Hello Dizzydon

I really like your positivity towards your diagnosis. I am the same however allow myself to be grumpy at times.

Love your name choice Bilbo. We’ve had Gollum here as well.
Mine was Whoopi but as my avatar shows she’s now asleep or in medical terms reversed.
    You should join  community.macmillan.org.uk/.../_

They’re a great bunch with so many tips. I was flying abroad in no time with Whoopi. They really gave me confidence to live life to the full.

Congratulations on finishing your treatment now plan some good things to do.

    Take care
