Even using handrail going up the stairs. I use tearowel to hold it, have been dizzy twice and so tires. Nothing else hopeit help

I had Capox last year and like you worried about the side effects. Personally, I found waiting for chemo to start harder to deal with emotionally than the actual chemo. Side effects were unpleasant but doable (bring gloves and a scarf for your first round: cold sensitivity may well set in before you leave the hospital), and the rhythm of the cycles was very predictable, making it all a lot less uncertain than the weeks before chemo.
What type of work do you do? I missed work, too, and worked part time throughout chemo.
Hello Debbie,
I had 4 cycles of capox, which finished in October - day 1 drip, 2 weeks tablets, week break.
I got the tingling, numbness in my hands and feet for a few days after the drip. Cycle 3 and 4 were quite tough with loss of appetite, but I didn’t get any nausea or diarrhoea (they gave me medication in case however).
Hope it all goes well for you x
Hi Vis I work for NHS Therapist assistant Practitioner so I work along side Qualified Occupational therapist and Physiotherapist on the wards I would like to go back and would like to continue working with chemo, how were you with this
Btw thank beautiful people for your words of what to do etc.
much love to all
Debbie
You might be ok to work, but I wouldn't even consider it. There are days when you will be very tired, your bowels may well be in 'turmoil' and your brain will be foggy. Also, you are more prone to infections and with this being the season of yucky things, stay home & stay safe.
The effect is cumulative and you'll know about it. Having said that, I did go back to work one month after I finished my last cycle on the basis that it could only get better ;)
