I have just been diagnosed with bowel cancer. I had the colonoscopy and endoscopy yesterday and the CT scan today, I dont know yet what grade of cancer and what my treatment options are. I, and my wonderful husband, have been thrown into this with no warning. I have no traditional symptoms and the postal test was clear, I had become breathless on exertion and found to be anaemic and many other tests then followed. I feel like I am in a waking nightmare and feel completely out of control.
Hi there I was T2 not that I knew that before my surgery. I just handed myself over and did everything they said. It’s the best way. They’re the experts. If you click on my name you can read my bio
Bowel Cancer is really treatable.
You take care. Deep breathe and go with it.
Once the cancers in the bin you will feel such a relief x

Hi Ann
Yes i have pre ready to take but dont know what time to take it. My colonoscopy was a pm so it was 10pm and 6am.
Tried to get through to the hospital but its all answer machines and so far no one has got back to me.
If i dont hear anything i will do 5pm and 9pm.
U have pre load to take also but have tines for that. Even one at 6am tomorrow. When I was nursing it was always nil by mouth but times have changed since then
Big hugs
Gill x
Good luck with that yucky stuff . The only positive from that is the scales. Ha ha
Hope you get through to them to your nurses
I had the drinks they gave me two the night before and two in the morning I had them on my reversal too. I was one of the few that liked them.
They’re much nicer than that empty the bowel stuff.
I came out with the prep and four bottles didn’t have a clue what to do with them. So you’re not alone
Xx

Hi Gill, I am so sad that you have so much to deal with at a time when you need to concentrate on yourself. We also have a beloved cat, a British Short Hair called Teddy, he will be nine on 31 December. He has a bit of a heart murmer which causes us worry. Have you had your surgery? I had mine, right side colectomy extended on Tuesday. I was discharged on Friday evening precipitously and chaotically as they had to free up beds for loads of covid patients. I am very fortunate my husband is fit enough and able to look after me. Let me know how things are going with you, Jane x
