Letter came today with dates for chemotherapy and radiotherapy starts in December, I am total terrified! Can anyone give me advice of what to expect have read all about the side affects but would like to hear some real people experience thank you

  • Thank you so much think I am getting into a better mind frame with all these kind answers

  • Yes it’s quite a low dosage  They gave me a list of appointment times which were all times of the day but I asked them to change them to the earliest possible (less backlog of people at that time) which they were fine about. The chemo tablets can be quite large so I pretended they were multivitamins!

  • Hi Fraser1

    Hoping you're doing well?

Easyvto say but positive is the inly way forward. I refused to allow the negative in and I believe 100% that helped in my recovery.

I know its hard, ive been there, but you can do it, and you will come out the other side

    Good luck

  • Thank you  each day I seem to more positive . Think it was such a shock as I had my operation on my ankle which was planed then the painkillers I got cause inflammation in my bowels so had to have a stoma operation  then was told I had a growth and it was cancer ,all within 8 days so was feeling quite down, but must admit this form has really help .So thanks again to everyone one on here yous have been so helpful

  • You got this!  Chemo and Radiotherapy you're having? It's known as chemoradiation. My husband got it last year in prep for surgery back in January had very little side effects. His consisted of chemo tablets (Capecitabine) he took in the morning then into the cancer centre for his radiotherapy this went on over 5 days Mon-Fri for 6 weeks I think it was. Long story short surgery was a success but unfortunately cancer is back and we're fighting it again. Don't let that scare you though everyone's journey is different. Good Luck!
