Hi Brandon5 and welcome to the board. Hopefully some of the guys will be along soon but I used to tuck my bag inside my underwear and then wore everything else as normal. The stoma nurse marked me up for my stoma before my op to ensure that the waistbands on my clothes didn’t cut across the stoma as you dont want to squash it. You might want to have a look at the stoma board too?

Hi Brandon
Like Karen said the stoma support group have lots of tips on this. Guys have written about getting some comfy trousers
I found close fitting high waist knickers perfect for the job then I wore my normal jeans etc with my pouch tucked away safe and sound. I emptied often as I liked my pouch flat
My hubby wears micro skin boxers which would be great he’s not got a pouch . It’s experimenting to find the best for you.

I bought trousers with a couple of extra inches on the waist and a pair of braces. That worked!
Hi Brandon
I've had a stoma now for almost two years and have a small hernia underneath so am very aware of the pitential difficulties of what to wear. My stoma is all but level with my belly button so is high enough for no issues with waistbands. I sometimes have the bag outside the trousers with a support belt over, and then long shirt or tee shirt. Alternatively, I'll tuck the pouch in under a support belt and shirt tucked in if I want to be smarter. You'll find the best fit and I admit, my own vanity drove the choices in the early days!!!!
Sorry to waffle!

Hi Brandon!
My husband has a stoma. I have bought him some high waisted trousers. The only thing is with these though is the the legs seem to be that wee bit longer and sometimes they trail, and my hemming leave a lot to be desiredHe wears mostly jogging bottoms as these have elasticated waists and he can pull them right up over his stoma bag. he has a hernia as well which protrudes a bit and sits on the site of his stoma so I need also to get him slightly longer T shirts. He can be a bit self- consious about it but apart from that he manages ok with it. He can change it himself etc and its like 2nd nature to him.
Hi Eddie/Richard!
How do you find the support belts for stomas?? I've asked Jay if he would like me to get him one and he said no some say they can be quite restricting. The hospital even offered him one and he didn't want it. He's still got a bit of a belly and where the hernia is it's right on the site of his stoma. He was offered surgery to get his stoma pushed back in but refused that as well as I think it mean re routing the bowel again. It can be a bit unsightly when you see it through his clothes. I get him slightly longer T shirts too to keep it covered as he can be a bit self-conscious if it can be seen. Take Care.
