HI i had a lower colon resection on the 30th of December last year i had a stoma fitted and had it reversed in Aprill if i can be any help at all please let me know Chris
Hi Manyanz17 and a warm welcome to the board. I had a 4cm tumour that was bleeding and also felt physically fine - it seemed strange that I was going to have treatment that was going to make me feel worse!
Depending on the position of the tumour you may go straight to surgery or have chemoradiation first to shrink the tumour (usually used for rectal tumours)
The next couple of weeks can be quite stressful waiting for tests and results but once you have a treatment plan in place then things will honestly feel a bit better. Bowel cancer is notoriously slow growing but very treatable. Stay away from google - it can be out of date and downright scary in places - you can ask anything you like on here and, if you click on peoples names, then it may show their profile page with their treatment to date
Im sorry your family is so far away - once you know what your treatment plan is then you could discuss this with your consultant. The support desk on here is always available for a chat too and may be able to help with your concerns.
Good to here that you’re still working - I found it a good distraction and helped keep life a bit more ‘normal’
Take care

Hi Manyanz17.
Sorry to hear about your situation.
As you learn more, you might find it helpful to click on people's name and it should bring up our "About xxxxx" pages. Many of us try to put some type of summary of our cases, to help others work out who could be good to share experiences with.
I hope this forum can help you feel less alone at this troubled time for you.
Glad your still able to enjoy being at work .
Wishing you all the best.
