I was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma in my uterus in July last year. Apparently only 5 in a million people are diagnosed with this. It is aggressive and incurable. Chemo and radiotherapy is only used palliatively. I have 3 monthly scans and sarcoma consultations. Ever since my surgery I have had terrible issues with my bowel which my surgeon said was due to the adhesions and complexity of the operation. My sarcoma consultant at the Christie said it shouldn't still be caused by the operation and asked my GP to do further investigations. My GP has referred me on the two week cancer pathway and I'm seeing a colorectal doctor on Monday. I don't think it's cancer as my latest poo stick results came back normal. Two years ago I had two polyps removed which weren't cancerous. I think it's more likely to be IBS or IBD
Hi Deborino
I wanted to say hello. I’m sorry that you’re going through the mill I’m not medically trained so I’m very unsure if your diagnosis.
I have had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and the scans to diagnose rectal cancer. I have to say that the bowel cancer screening and treatment is cohesive and very effective targeting the individual cases.I hope that you have the all clear. If there’s anything you’re concerned about when having your tests pop it up. There’s lots of great support here.

Hi Ann, thanks for your reply. Sarcoma is a cancer of the soft tissue. A couple of weeks ago there were three episodes of film about surgeons who operate at the extreme end of complex surgery. The last episode included three patients with sarcoma. They were all treated at the Marsden.
Thanks Deborino
I did look up a little and it said that it’s very rare.
Maybe they want to make sure that everything with the bowel is well so with a colonoscopy they can have a thorough check
i hope that the appointment goes well with the doctor Monday
