My wife had an operation for bowel cancer Oct 2018. The result was she ended up with a permanent colostomy To be honest she has struggled with her stoma , constant pain , sore skin , nodules around the stoma and the latest burst blood vessels . She has become housebound , unable to cope Due to covid she wasn't able to see doctors or nurses We were finally able to get an appointment last Monday at QE hospital Kings Lynn. To cut a long story short at the hospital she had a blood vessel burst which created panic and no end of trauma They had no doctors available so we were advised to go to A&E. By this time my wife was in no fit state so we declined and drove home .The stoma nurse has been in touch and is trying to arrange something with the hospital! Anyone got any advice?
Gosh Crossy your poor wife really has had a tough time . What a difficult time at the hospital .
Just wondered if you would find this forum helpful . It covers all the different cancer groups who have a stoma so brings together more knowledge.
