So I've got my colonoscopy next Friday. I've had 2 before and the prep and procedure wasn't good. I'm now experiencing pain in my vagins and considering I had a total hysterectomy 23 years ago there is nothing there to cause pain. I've read that the cancer can invade the vagins so I am now pretty terrified. Has anyone experienced this?

I’m in the UK. Do you not have smear tests?

Yes, I understand that your cervix has gone as part of the hysterectomy, but that doesn’t stop you having the hpv virus, or developing abnormal cells in your vaginal cuff or vulva.

I’ve never had to do one, thankfully, and just had my all clear from my bowel screening, so you have my sympathy!

Thank you-it was very good news. I hope that everything goes smoothly tomorrow and things are better than you might imagine.

Hi Katz they found a polyp and removed it for histology and did 6 biopsies but found no tumour which is obviously good. However it doesn't give me a reason for my symptoms. I will get a follow-up appointment in about 6 weeks for results.
Thank you for asking.
