Hello,
My husband, 68 fit as a flea has just had an abnormal result for his biannual national screening test. He is booked for a colonoscopy on June 9th. I am sick with worry, he has never had any symptoms so hoping this doesn’t mean anything. I lost my sister last year to bowel cancer, also picked up on screening in 2020.
Hi Owlets. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies result in a bowel cancer diagnosis but it’s best to get checked out to find what’s causing the abnormal result. The waiting for the next step is hard but all you can do is try to keep busy and let us know how he gets on?
Take care
