Hi I was diagnosed on December 24th 2021 with bowel cancer and I have just finished my radiotherapy therapy and I have had a few side affects, which made me quite miserable but I know it will pass.I start my chemotherapy in a few weeks and then surgery after that.I was really dreading having a stoma but most of what I have read prefer this to no stoma which is quite amazing and also settled me a bit as I was really worried .
Hi Baillie5
This is a great place to get advice from people that have been through the same as you. I found support and lots of tips on managing my stoma.
I’m travelling staying away in hotels eating out in fact I am in a much better place than I was with the cancer. It caused fatigue and continual pressure also I had to be careful of everything I ate.
I still have to be mindful of my diet however I’m in Spain and eating out with no problems
I was worried about having a stoma I think most do but I wanted the cancer out. When I awoke after my op I put my hand to feel and felt such relief that the cancer was in the bin and the pressure had gone.
Ann
