Had emergency op for bowel obstruction. It was cancer. Start chemotherapy in 3 weeks. It hasn’t spread so feeling lucky. Am very nervous about the treatment.
Hi and a warm welcome to the board from me. No spread is good news so now the final belt and braces with chemo. It’s natural to be nervous - I had a pre-chemo meeting with a nurse for bloods etc. and she took me to the chemo room and it was very relaxed and friendly. The nurses will take good care of you and there are lots of ways of dealing with any side effects.
Ive attached a link to a post about chemo top tips that you might like to have a look at but if there’s anything in particular that you’re worried about then please ask.
One of the main side effects is a reaction to anything cold so make sure you have a scarf, hat and gloves at the ready for leaving the unit and a pair inside for getting anything out of the fridge or freezer
Take care
