Hi Everyone,
My dad who was diagnosed with colon cancer 1 year ago. He is very ill now. I am just going to see him but I never had a good relationship with him, he left my mum when we were very young. I dont know what to say, how to talk with him.
Please help . It would be easier if I known him...
Good luck to everyone
Ozzy
Hi Ozzy
That is a very difficult situation to be in . We have a very supportive helpline who cover the emotional aspects and how to communicate with relatives.
Your dad made choices too and you can’t undo some of that all you can ever do is your best in any given situation and with the emotional resources you have available to you .
If he is has hospice involvement they sometimes have pastoral care for families that covers the harder aspects of life and relationships and provide a place to heal a little .
Our helpline staff have a lot of experience in this field 0808 808 0000. They would be more than happy to share with you .
Take care ,
Court
