Hi i am fairly new to the community and am normally to be found in the cervical cancer group as that was my diagnosis just over 3 years ago.
I was unfortunate in that my cancer recurred and the reason I have joined here is that I had a total pelvic exenteration almost 2 years ago. My cancer had spread but thankfully within the pelvis so I was able to have the surgery. So I think I sort of belong in several different groups really!
I had my rectum removed, along with multiple other parts, and have a urostomy and a colostomy. I just wondered if it might be helpful to join this group: while I appreciate that there are differences in the surgery, and I don’t have a Barbie butt for example, I do know what it’s like to go through this surgery and come out he other side with clear margins and no evidence of disease.
I hope that’s ok, and that I might be able to offer some support here along with the other groups I have joined. x
Hi Sarah
You are welcome here.
It sounds like you really have been through the mill and it would be really great if you could write up your biography, then we could read your journey and it would help newbies. Click on my name to read my bio.
I’m very fortunate as I had rectal cancer which has been removed and I’m coping with an ileostomy called Whoopi. She’s there for the time being and may be moved across or hidden if I’m reversed time and my team will tell.
There may be others that are going through what you have and you can help when they’re searching for similar stories to theirs .
We definitely need positive stories when we are facing this.
Its wonderful news that you are cancer free

Morning Artsie Ann
Thank you. We’ve spoken before in the stoma group-I smile when I see your little avatar! x

Yes I thought that was you with Boris and Donald.
I did yours too if you’d like them you are welcome they’re easy to put up. She makes me smile too though she’s full of bubbles today, maybe she’s hungry. She gets like that before feeding.
