Hello all, I am new to this as you can probably tell!
Am just nearing the end of 5 weeks chemoradiation for rectal cancer. Have been very lucky regarding side effects, with only radiation dermatitis causing me any problems.
Have now been offered a 3month course of Capox chemotherapy after a two week break. I have been informed that this is the new way forward after results of the Opra Trial.
Has anybody else any knowledge or experience of this treatment plan or the trial, as it would be good to know from others' experiences before deciding is this the best way forward.
Thank you all.
Hello nannaH welcome to the forum . I completely lost this thread but had read it and want to reply . Having been around this forum for ten years I had clocked a change in protocol so wanted to thank you for raising this . I had suspected a new direction from some research was taking place but no idea what but I had mentioned on a few posts that I could see some changes in protocols. Thanks to you I can now go and get better informed .

You might find this thread helpful in preparing for treatment .
Others here will be able to share with you as they will have had similar .
There are a few people currently having the same protocol as you but they might not have been aware of the trail name !
Take care ,
