Currently waiting results from biopsies and CT scan

Hi Leigh, I’m the same, had MRI, CT, colonoscopy next week.  

Think the wait is worse part, will be 3 weeks on Saturday since I had colonoscopy 

Hi both of you and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear what you’re both going though. I’m a little bit further along the journey but not by much (diagnosed in late-October, start chemo tomorrow). So there’s plenty of people here who know more than I do.

But my experience so has been that: 

1. For most people this is the worst bit. Everything is new and the uncertainty is at its greatest. Whatever the outcome it gets easier. There’ll be a treatment plan and great care and you’ll get going. 

2. Whatever the outcome of the tests so far it’s just the first turn in a long and winding journey. Bowel cancer is very treatable and the impacts on quality of life manageable. 

3. Again, whatever the news you’ll find these forums amazingly welcoming and supportive. So whatever your personal circumstances you won’t be alone so long as you bookmark this page.

Just wanted to say hello, I’m further along the way but have experienced what you are going through. It’s the hardest part. Make sure you have some treats that you really enjoy. I found my mind went to all kinds of places. Once you see your consultant you can then focus on the planned treatment. 

Thank you for your kind words, just had my Pre-Assessment Appointment this morning 24/12/2021. I’m fit and healthy, bloods good, heart good no issue, to get PCR test on Sunday 26/12/2021 for my Forthcoming Colorectral colonoscopy, on Wednesday 29/12/2021. I’m feeling more positive, it’s wonderful that all you wonderful kind people are here to put our minds at rest. Thank you, and a Merry Merry Christmas tomorrow. Xxxx

That’s great news. Now you can try and concentrate on enjoying some treats at Christmas.
