Hi everyone,
Just dared myself to talk about my situation. After 18 months of treatment and operations I am now with 2 Stomas, 1 hernia and a picc line. I've had 23 cycles of chemo but as yet little success of ruced tumour that is in a dangerous position on my liver which means that it is too difficult to operate. I originally had bowel cancer but it spread. They haven't been able to get me a scan for the st few months as they say that there are none available! The 2nd stoma was created because of a mistake with the first one. They left my intestine or bowel too long which then looped and split. Don'know much detail but it is what it is. I get depressed with the constant emptying of my stoma usually during the evening and nights but getting used to it. Sorry to moan, I know I'm lucky to be alivbut it's something I needed to get it off my chest. Happy Christmas to you all. Keep smiling.
Welcome to the forum I am so glad you joined in the catch and I have been giving a lot of thought recently to the best was to support people who are living with cancer as a chronic condition . As you say although you have learnt to live with it you still need a place to safely say how you really feel and get support from people who understand .

I have linked in our forum for stomas and can assure you the right people are there who understand the issues that come with managing a stoma .
Maybe in the next few weeks we can catch about developing threads relevant to chemo in a maintenance setting .
So pleased you joined in the chat as that is a lot to process .
Take special care ,

Hi Satchmo
You definitely have a right to moan. I would be moaning a lot. I wine about my one stoma ileostomy called Whoopi. I’d double moan if I had two. There’s lots of us in the forum courts tagged and I’ve had lots of support and advice. We do have giggle as well. Hope you have a Good Christmas. Keep us updated

Hi Artsie,
Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate any chats and I think when you are in our situations you need a sense of humour to survive. I call my 2 Stomas Alien 1 and Alien 2.If you've seen the film y'll understand. Keep smiling and have a great Christmas.
Satchmo
Oh my goodness. Alien and John Hurt an his stomachs I didn’t see the sequel! I’m coward with any suspense thriller horror type. But I can really see the connection. Excellent naming. I’ll do you a design if you like in the new year. It’d probably be John Hurt and Sigourney Weaver style hair and eyes. They’re dress is identical as you can see from my Whoopi. All my stoma designs are dressed.. I’ve done Boris and Nicola and many more on the post about naming our stoma’s. We did have some fun.
Hope you have a good Christmas
Ann
Hi Satchmo I was the proud parent of Boris and Nicola ( all do with what came out of them ) until they brought their friends home called Hernia and Prolapse .What a mess they made as after a while they had to go .
I'm so glad that you joined out family on this page. You will laugh and cry at posts but it will get you through this horrendous experience ..Have a look at Artsie page about Name your Stoma Honoured that Boris and Nicola were one of emoji,s..
