Hi everyone I'm looking for advise about waiting times for biopsy results.
I had a colonoscopy on the 9th October they took 10 biopsy's the doctor who did the colonoscopy said there was inflammation in my colon but didn't mention anything else that I can remember as I had sedation. I have had pain for about 2 years and only just got the colonoscopy.
I had a fit test done about 2 weeks before the fit score was >400. The doctors think it's cancer I'm so scared I'm only 27 my family keep asking if I have the results back.
I don't know if this wait is good news or bad I have looked online I know that google isn't helpful but I'm scared and want to know what's going on and any advise would be appreciated.
thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Hi . Yes the waiting for results is very stressful but having a colonoscopy is a good way of getting to the cause of the problem. There are lots of things that have similar symptons to bowel cancer such as crohns, diverticulitis, colitis etc. Please stay away from google - it is out of date, misleading and downright scary in places - you’ve done the right thing posting on here. Have you rung your doctors to see if they can chase it up for you or see if you can contact the colorectal support nurse at the hospital?
I know others have had long waits for results and it really is tough waiting so I hope they come through soon for you
Take care

Thank you for your reply and yes I understand google isn’t the best place to look as you say there’s lots of things that share the symptoms of bowel cancer. I have rang my doctors from Thursday and asked them to chase them up but the reply I get is there been dealt with and there’s nothing they can do I asked for some support or someone to talk to the doctors said they didn’t know what support there is and I should go on google to find it which is ridiculous but I’m glad I found this group it’s just the waiting game it’s making my anxiety go through the roof and I am always been pestered by people asking if my results are back and I always say no not yet I just don’t know what to do about it I feel lost and scared but thank you so much for your reply I really appreciate it
thank you
