My 41 year old daughter has now been told she is clear of cancer after what I can only describe as a challenging journey....I lived with Georgina for the duration and I prey that we can move forward, never to repeat the past year!!
One of the chemo drugs Georgina was given after her bowel operation was Oxaliplatin, which attacks the nerves.... Unfortunately Georgina has been left with neuropathy... She has no feeling in the ball of her foot to the end of her toes.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience, and if there is a chance of feeling coming back.
An ever hopeful mum... Jackie
My neuropathy is not as severe, my toes tingle and feel swollen, my hands too but to a lesser extent. My oncologist said there can be improvement in these symptoms for up to a year after finishing chemotherapy, I'm six months in. I try to massage my feet with cream everyday, but I don't always get around to it.
Best wishes to you and Georgina,
Sarah
Hi
My mum’s did lessen a bit but last year seemed more problematic due to other medication she had to go on .
We had a bit of a chat in the forum as by chance I gave her a pair of fitflop shoes and this seemed to be of great assistance to her ! She now wears mainly this type of shoe ! Other people also mentioned sketchers !
The neuropathy is certainly not as bad as it was in the first few years !
Send her our best wishes ,
Court
