Hi. I was diagnosed with cancer last month and a week after that I had surgery. it was all very scary for me and my family.
There is lots on here about chemo and side effects etc.make a cup of tea ,sit down and have a good read of the posts.
I wish I had accessed this site before I had my treatment,it would have been very useful.

Hi and a warm welcome from me too. Good to hear that you’re recovering from the operation - they usually say about 5 weeks so it’s still quite early days.
Chemo can be a bit daunting initially and there are a lot of side effects but you won’t necessarily get all of them and there are lots of pills and potions to help with them. The nurses will keep a close eye on you and the dosage can be lowered if you’re really struggling.
Members of the board have put together a thread with some top chemo tips that you might like to take a look at?
It is a scary time but everyone on the board will be happy to help and support you through this
Take care

Hi , I too had chemo after the operation. I think what chemo you have varies with the location of the tumour. Once you know just ask! Someone is sure to know.
The gap between my operation and chemo starting was 2 months. They don't tend to start any quicker than 6 weeks as the healing need to be well on its way first. Take care
