Hi I was diagnosed through routine screening and I am due surgery on Tuesday it has now become real.
Mine was rectal. At this stage, I believe they only give chemo after if they find any nasties in either the lymph nodes or the blood vessels. Mine was low dose for a long time, and is designed to be low impact on your life. But it is still cumulative, that said I still worked my day per week at a high school. I did change it from Friday to Monday, with chemo on the Wed, to give more recovery time.
Welcome . I had a stage 3 removed via a right hemocolectemy 7 weeks ago. I had it on a Friday morning and was home at Tuesday lunchtime. It was nowhere bad as I had expected it to be. Do ask if you have any more questions and good luck!
, operation was late Monday afternoon, out Friday lunchtime. They have to make sure the anastomosis is holding with no leaks, so the sooner your bowels perform, so to speak, the sooner you will be out.
