Good morning everyone, I am new to the group. I have been diagnosed with bowel cancer which has unfortunately spread to my liver and lymph glands! I am due to commence quite aggressive chemotherapy for 6 months to try and reduce it. I am a 'glass half full' person so am remaining positive and taking each day as it arises but I am becoming a little anxious as the day of the first treatment looms ever closer. Just wanted to share a little bit of my journey with you all. Hope your day is as good as it can be. xxx

The actress who shares your name died of bowel cancer !.Medicine has advanced since those days so more people are surviving longer periods.. Have you been staged?. I really focus on the current day and I send my best to you.

Glad you joined in . I have linked in the chemo care thread which you might have already stumbled upon . Lots of good info to help you through chemo ! If you click on my user name you can read my mum’s story as she navigated a spread to her liver !

On approaching yet another procedure she would say “ Best foot forward “ or “ I will find my focus” and one way or another she would mount a response to the process!

Hope we can be of some assistance to you as you get into a rhythm with treatment !

Hello and welcome , I was diagnosed with the same in November, have been on aggressive chemo since then which has thankfully shrunk the tumours. I am now waiting to hear if the liver surgeon will operate.

It's daunting going for your first treatment but the nurses are lovely and will take very good care of you.
