I had biopsies and full examination of anal canal on 2nd august do to Recto Vaginal Septum Mass that has ulcerated through anal wall. I had all this done under GA in theatre. My consultant came to see me next day and said he’s thinking it’s an early cancer. I bled bad and required clotting medication due to hypercoagulation Disorder.
He said I required urgent MRI Rectal examination and CT Chest and Abdomen, these were done Saturday 14th, I have had a colonoscopy done today under sedation to look at the rest of my bowel, which looked normal- thank the Lord!
My consultant didn’t carry out the colonoscopy but his colleague did, another consultant which was really lovely. He asked me if I knew why I was there, also had anyone discussed the full results and findings of my biopsies, I said no as I wasn’t aware they were back. He double checked that I had the MRI and CT booked or had them, told him I had them. He then said well I will let your consultant discuss all the findings with you and he will be in touch. I’m scared now as to is it early? Have they found anything else?
my consultant has been amazing and rang me himself a few times to speak with me regarding tests and to see how I felt after discharge from surgery.
oh I forgot to mention my consultant did say to me after my operation, because of where the tumour is growing it would need removing at Sheffield and not my local hospital.
