Hi everyone.
A bit of my story.
I have had bleeding for over a year in stools, put down to constipation. I have lost over a stone since end of March. I have been experiencing severe low back pain and pelvic pain. My left leg has been swelling up for over a year. I had a TIA in March. I have returned to work in June, after the TIA.
Last week I thought I was having a episode of constipation and was bleeding and this time lost a few clots( I do have a hupercoagulation disorder). I felt a very hard solid big lump in my vagina, first thought was I had not emptied my bowels properly. I had a Hysterectomy 12 years ago due to cin 3 and constant bleeding. I pushed the lump but it did not move, so I felt in my bottom to find a lump that was on the back wall and pushing through my vagina. It felt very solid, irregular and like a long part going up on the wall. I immediately contacted my Gp who has examined me, I have completed the FIT Test, had routine blood tests and referral went to hospital on Monday for 2ww lower Gi and said I will need the camera. The gp did say it felt very solid and irregular. She also used the word Woody???
I recieved a text from hospital Monday saying if I don’t hear anything by 7th today to call them, which I have done, to ge told nurse had the referral and will be looking at this and contacting me.
I have cried several times. My lymph nodes either side of bikini line are so swollen and going under my legs from groin very swollen and tender to touch.
I am terrified. My dad had cancerous polyps at 39.
Hi
Welcome to the forum ! So glad you joined in the forum as it is a very , very hard stage when you have some information but not enough to know exactly what you are dealing with .
Lymph nodes as far as I understand can be reactionary for a variety of reasons but it is unsettling and I hope they can get some information quickly !
Bowel cancer has a lot of treatment options and if it turns out to be the case we are here to help you through this ! Many , many people pass through here . Draw strength from other members and even visit us from time to time to update us on how their lives are developing.
Kareno62 always advises to stay away from Google and stick with here or bowel cancer U.K. where you will get up to date information.
I think she will pop on but suspect she is watching some football right now !
They will take really good care of you . The services are well developed and unlike other tests they are inclined to let you know at the colonoscopy what they can see !

Hi and a warm welcome to the board from me too. As court says this is a horrible time waiting for colonoscopies, scans, meetings etc. but you are in the system now and things do tend to move quite quickly once the wheels are in motion. The colonoscopy will give you a good idea of what is going on - they told me immediately after mine in 2016 that they were 99% sure it was cancerous and after my surveillance once last Friday they told me it was all clear.
I won’t tell you to try not to worry but do please stay away from google. Bowel cancer is very treatable nowadays and we’ll be happy to support you through this.
Please let us know how everything goes
Take care
Karen x
