Just want answers colonoscopy on Thursday symptoms no better , feel alot of discomfort and scared everytime I go to the loo. Waiting is the hardest part.
Hello ,was ok had gas n air but it was very painful in places, my CT had showed diverticulosis however today showed that , plus a 1.5-2 cm polyp sigmoid and a 6-8 mm polyp 20 cm up in the rectum. So they took 2 biopsy of the large polyp and 2 of the caecum R/O microscopic colitis and 2 biopsy of the rectum R/O microscopic colitis .. waiting for results band appointment to see specialist in the clinic , wonder why CT didn't pick them up , hope your doing ok court x
Also she said I probably need another flexiiscope sigmoidoscopy to check polyp in rectum as was to uncomfortable today and probably another moviprep before it , omg
The team that did my colonoscopy kept me informed all the way through the procedure. I watched the procedure on a big colour screen. The doctor showed me the 3cm polyp (aka Cancer growth) on the screen. However I had to wait several weeks before I met my surgeon who confirmed that I had bowel cancer. That was back in December 2020, now I have finished my chemotherapy (horrible!) and am feeling much better. My advice is to trust the NHS professionals, they know what they are doing.
I wish you well.
Yes was 2 screens at mine , I'm not well today in alot of pain right hand side and all round the back ,and last night was trying to pas wind and I was passing blood had to go to loo a couple of times and it was just blood , like when u use the movi prep.
Hi . Can you ring the unit for reassurance? x
By the way I rang them at 2 this morning to be told to either ring 111 or go to A&E xx
Oh dear me . Did you go to A and E ?
I had to take my dad the other night and could not get an ambulance. Staff were brilliant but the service was overloaded !
Hope your ok ! How is your family getting on ?

This is the wee NHS post colonoscopy leaflet which is quite helpful in separating what needs to be attended to . Trapped air is horrible. Hope it settled soon .
Dad is ok . Just very happy to be home and that’s good enough for us !
