Just want answers colonoscopy on Thursday symptoms no better , feel alot of discomfort and scared everytime I go to the loo. Waiting is the hardest part.

  • Hi . Yes it’s horrid isn’t it? I’ve got to have a COVID test on Tuesday and then isolate until my colonoscopy on Friday. I’ve been to the supermarket today to stock up on things for my ‘low fibre diet’ lead up to the moviprep. I’m having cornflakes and crumpet for breakfast, chicken in white bread for dinner, and jacket potato’s with cottage cheese (without the jackets) for tea! Not looking forward to the moviprep but I’ll try the same technique as last time - ice cold, 4 slurps through a wide straw every 15 minutes and a big swig of tonic (no gin) to take the taste away. I’ve bought some chamomile tea to try and get my blood pressure down. Think I’ll miss a cuppa and chocolate the most but it’s the means to an end to I shall take a deep breath and try not to be too grumpy with my hubby

We shall get through this Thumbsup

I don't know what I'll eat I had covid in September and since then things taste awful still or altered , can't eat anything strawberry flavour or chicken, gravy ,can't even stand mint sauce which was my favourite , I think I'll have a semolina pudding if it smells and taste ok sand white toast and maybe try some poached eggs and is the moviprep that bad, do u make it up with warm water then cool it down xx

  • Hi . No you mix each sachet with a litre of cold water but I then put it in the fridge as it’s supposed to be a bit easier to get down then. You can add squash to try and make it more palatable but test it on a small amount first in case it makes it worse and don’t forget to avoid dark coloured squash. It’s not very nice which is why a straw is a good idea to lessen the contact with your taste buds - it’s like salty lemsip! x

Had results from CT said they saw I cm clear cyst on liver nothing to worry about and diverticulosis but reading on it seems I have the more severe kind diverticulitis , but more will be known today, moviprep tasted alright as long covid distorted my sense of smell and taste but it is very hard to drink it all . Last night it took me just over 3 hours, started at 7pm then toilet from 8 till midnight then continued waking up in night, up at 5.30 to make next batch ready for 6am, boiled kettle so used half boiling then half cold tap water ,first glass I started needing loo and finished it just before the 2 hours, but I have been constantly on the loo, currently sat in bath , but had to get out 2 times, I will find out what they will do as I'm bleeding and passing small blood clots in still so maybe simple some antibiotics , I hope you get on ok , I will update later ,just to let you know xxx plus my beautiful granddaughter was born yesterday.

  • Hi . Yes it’s a lot to drink although if it was lager I’d probably manage! I’ve got a morning appointment so start prep at 5pm then again at 9pm. Fabulous news about your granddaughter - bet you can’t wait for cuddles.

    Everything crossed for you today
