After my second colon cancer operation in 2019 I was put on a course of 10 Imodium and 60mg of codeine per day to slow down and try to control going to the toilet.
up to six weeks ago I have coped with various issues continual very soft toilet, soreness in my bottom, controlled by sodacrem, germaloide cream and a steroid cream prescribed by my doctor. I have had episodes of soreness over the last two years but now the soreness has turned into severe pain all day and night and none of the creams resolved the issue the doctor had a look and could not see any damage to the skin and told me to use more sodacrem but this not only does not help but has made the pain worse, could it be the skin now rejecting the creams because I have used them so much or is it something else.
At present I am now awaiting another colonoscopy, CT and PET scan because of pain in lower back and losing 17 lbs in weight in five weeks.
thank you
Hi Colon
I was wondering when reading your post if you had thought about being referred to a dermatologist. They are sometimes very helpful in dealing with some of the skin issues that treatment / complications throw up and that a bit more insight into the skin reactions . Just a thought !
All the best with your upcoming scans and investigations. Hope it goes well for you .
Take care ,
