Hi
Welcome ! Keyhole should make recovery much easier . My mum had right side ascending resection but many years ago now ! She was having a liver resection at the same time so had open surgery with a different recovery . However her bowels started working after a few days . She had good pain relief and I think you might fine they are inclined to get you up quite soon after the surgery. They fast track patients where possible . Others would be best placed filling you in on the diet aspect but she was eating soft stuff quite quickly !
What I would like to say she was able to be reconnected right away , no stoma on that occasion and her bowels settled well apart from some initial recovery weeks . She has never really been troubled by them ever since . She is careful with things like lentils etc .
The anaesthetic staff where wonderful at reassurance and they took great care of her !
Take care ,
