Hi  All my name is Maureen. Im writing today to see if anyone can shed some light as to whats happening with my brother. In nov 20 he was diagnosed with bowel cancer an given 3 monthes to live. As a family we we.re concerned now things are changing. He now has a yellow tinge to his skin but is emmesly pale if that makes sense an he.s becoming confused. He is in a home who don.t seem to give us much information unless we ask.

  • Hi

I am so sorry to read your brother is so poorly . When the liver is affected the enzymes can rise and it can cause the skin to turn yellow and even the whites around the eyes can turn a bit yellow . I think it can also be responsible for causing confusion too .
You might like to phone our helpline 0808 808 0000 as the Macmillan nurses have a lot of experience in this field and you help prepare you in what to expect but also how to get support.

Its a very difficult situation for you so send you all our love ,
