Hi, new here - diagnosed with a very low rectal cancer on August 19th, due to start chemoradiotherapy next week, but I'm really struggling with pain and not really getting anywhere when I ask anyone aboutbout it. From what I can work out it is tenasmus but painful due to where my tumour is, and I think I also have a sore patch on the outside. I would describe it as feeling like a heavy golf ball trying to push out all the time, and then sometimes that golf ball feels like it's on fire! I can't sit and struggle to lie, but get tired of standing all day, and I'm struggling when I can't sleep. I'm taking my full dose of paracetamols and have been given codeine but because I have to take laxatives with that which produces more poo, and pooing is so painful, I've not stuck with the codeine. If anyone has got this far can anyone relate and/or offer any advice please? Medical people seem to look at me a bit like I'm mad when I try to describe the pain, which I'd say is at least eight or nine out of 10 when it's the 'hot' pain
