Muscle stiffness when on FOLFIRI after CAPOX

Has anyone experienced muscle stiffness and aches when on FOLFIRI ?  Hubby struggling with walking any distance as one of his thigh muscles is very stiff/achey. He has reduced strength in one leg and although can do leg raises with the other leg he just can’t with his right one.  He cannot recall pulling a muscle at any time. He is normally very active and used to be able to walk for miles.

We were wondering if he has pulled it, then would the chemo make it worse?  He was absolutely fine on Friday before his chemo session then the leg stiffness began the following day and is getting worse now he has finished his steroids.

He has asked me to ask you lovely lot as this is driving him mad. Weird that it’s only his leg and not all his muscles?

Any advice as to how to get through this greatly appreciated xx

  • Hi  Chemo can cause weak legs and cramp but I think I’d be giving his chemo helpline number a ring to run it past them? Chemo can cause blood clots so it might be best to get checked out?

    Hope it’s nothing serious
