Hi There,
I am a 54 year old male that was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer last July, I had a High Anterior Resection and 3 months of CAPOX Chemo that went well and have started back at work. I moved to Peterborough from London about 4 years ago but as I work from home I do not really know anyone here and feel isolated.
My work is very stressful and wanted to ask if anyone is in similar circumstances and how they are dealing with it?
Thank you
Hi OJ17 and a warm welcome to the gang from me. I was going to make a few local support suggestions for you but I see that Mike the Highlander has already done that!
It is difficult moving towns and not knowing anyone but I think the main thing is to try and be proactive? What sort of things are you into? Are there any local sports teams that you might join? Gym classes? Go for a walk and talk to people? Local pub quiz? Sometimes the local fb page will advertise events that you could go to or even help with?
Try to get outside everyday and away from your computer and hopefully the fresh air and sunshine will motivate you to look around and find something that interests you
Take care
Karen x
