CT scan waiting times

How long is the typical waiting time for a CT scan post identification of bowel cancer from a colonoscopy)? Is there any merit in going private to speed up the scan bit of the process, even if want treatment on the NHS? I am happy to self fund a scan if helps get things moving but not sure if it actually helps in the longer run.

I hope you hear soon as the waiting is the worst time.I guess it differs in various regions.I am in s yorks and it was only a couple of weeks between the colonoscopy and the mri and ct scans.this was 5yrs ago so hopefully others with more recent experiances and in your area will have more up to date timings.In the meantime all the best going forwards and you will get through this

Thanks Katz51. My scan is on Wed so not had to wait too long. Fingers crossed for the ongoing journey.
