I posted on here a couple of months ago about my dad and his bowel cancer.
Well, to update, he had surgery last week. Thankfully the surgeons managed to remove the cancer (removed part of his bowel rather than the whole bowel), removed the prostate and also removed the bladder. Unfortunately the cancer had spread to his prostate and was also found in a tube that links the prostate and bladder. The surgeons were pleased with how well the operation went, it took 2 teams of them and 7 hours in total.
My dad now has 2 stomas and is in hospital recovering. He said he felt better than he'd felt in months as soon as he woke up after the operation. The tumor had been causing him pain.
He's still very weak and tired, hasn't been out of bed for a week but he's just happy to be cancer free.
Hope other people on this forum will be so fortunate. Best wishes for all of you.
